SWITCH AJAX GRAND OPENING
THIS SATURDAY IS THE GRAND OPENING OF SWITCH AJAX..yes we are already open but we finally got our stuff together..SO WE ARE HAVING A SALE, A BBQ AND A SKATE EVENT ON OCT 31ST. THE SKATE EVENT STARTS AT 2PM AND THE BBQ WILL START AROUND 1PM. SWITCH PICKERING WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE DAY!!

Today is the launch of Push.ca’s First Photos contest, a national search for Canadian skateboard photography talent in partnership with Vans, Color Magazine, Club Mumble and Contributor.
We’re inviting any skate photographers who’ve never been published in a major skate mag to upload their photos to Push.ca between now and November 9th. The photos will be judged by Brian Caissie (Concrete), Dylan Doubt (Color) and Bob Kronbauer (Club Mumble), and the photographer who shoots the best overall photo will be published in Color Magazine, and win a trip to Toronto to attend the First Photos photo show (which will include photography from our winners, plus pro skate photographers) and do a private photo shoot with a member of the Vans pro team. There will also be five other winners of specific photo categories, each of whom will get a Vans prize pack worth $500.

Bradley Hesson
Switch would like to welcome Bradley Hesson to the Switch Snowboard team. We are stoked to have him on board with the Switch fam and we look foward to seeing Bradley kill it this upcoming year. More info about Bradley to follow....
Brad Hesson is probably one of the most stoked shred kids I know. He's always down to hit handrails (even when it's not a good idea). He won't stop til he gets the shot (which could be rough for me, the filmer) and is progressing at an exponential rate (like really fast). Keep an eye on this kid, he's got talent and is always learning new stuff.

“Straight up; Bradley rips. It’s rare to come across a kid so crazy about snowboarding. I honestly think if you took away Brad’s snowboard his health would be in jeopordy. Then again, if you’ve ever seen him ride, you’d know that he always pushes it to the limit and doesn’t hold back at all. All you have to do is search Youtube to see how busy he is, whether it’s on winter snow, preseason arena slush or green astro turf watered down. It’s only a matter of time before all that hard work pays off and Bradley gets the recognition he deserves. Then again, when you love it as much as he does, it’s seems odd to call it hard “work”.”

Take Ten With... Mitch Donovan"

I have been stoked on brewin' up Mitch's segment since I started this deal. And the good dude he is, Mitch was down for the cause. Now I never really knew of Mitch's work 'til I saw his two track ender in Finesse. I was just blown away and very quickly Mitch hit the radar and I was lurking all his footy. Once I got deeper into the MCC (Mcleans Community Centre) skatepark scene that I actually got to Know mitch, much like the case of me and Jmoss (Jordan Moss). Mitch is one of those dudes that, ya he's sponsored, but he's not up in your face about it. When I say sponsored, I mean it, with a nice flow from eS footwear, Control skateboards, and of course Switch, there is no doubt however that Mitch earned all of it. Since Finesse's drop in 'O8, homie has come a long way in his bag of trickery. I've seen some recent footy and I'll simply say that when Mitch's next part drops, you won't want to miss it! Recently, Switch hosted the Battle at MCC. A game of skate in which skaters from the local scene competed in a tourny similar to the Battle at the Berrics. Mitch came out on top and proved that he is a very steady up and comer. So before I start to ramble, here's a little insight into our boy Mitch. Take a toke, and Take Ten With... Mitch Donovan..
JOE: Yo, give yourself an intro homeboy.
MITCH: Mitch Donovan
JOE: Explain the jump into skating for us would ya Mitchy.
MITCH: Both my brothers were skating when I was younger and I always wanted to try it, then eventually I got a board for my 13th or 14th bday after grade 8 or somethin' like that.
JOE: Man, almost 5 years on a board and you're at where you are now, crazy. Other than MCC, where's your stomping grounds Mitch?
MITCH: Out front on my fresh road with my tetra bench.
JOE: What's good in the world of Mitch right now?
MITCH: Skating... DONE SCHOOL! ! ! Probably need to get a job soon.
JOE: Ah I remember that sweet feeling. So fresh, yet jobs blow. So who get's you hype to go skate (like me), so who gets you ready?

MITCH: I skate with a lot of people, usually homies from around here like Jordan (Moss),, Aj (Mousseau), Shif (Mike Shifrer), Rob.... Bobby (Dekeyzer), Binko (Brandon Del Bianco), Will (Marshall).
JOE: You got any aspirations for your lifes direction Mitch?
MITCH: I hope I get to travel and shit.. never even been outta Canada haha. But yeah, just keep skating, progressing and having fun.
JOE: What about a little information on how you got on Switch, and in a domino effect started getting other hookups?
MITCH: Shif (Mike Shifrer) got on them when they first opened, got me hyped on them and just started skating with the crew when it came together. Jordan (Moss) was on the team too after a while then Behagg (Mike) put me on the team when Switch Takeover dropped, it was tight. And he's helped to get me the other sponsors, thanks dag.
JOE: That's what's good eh, well damn Mitch keep makin' them moves!
